Rated: R for pervasive language, crude sexual content, strong violence, a sexual assault, and drug use

‘Small Engine Repair’ is based off the play written by playwright-actor John Pollono. The story centers on three friends reunited one night under a mysterious premise at a repair shop in Manchester, New Hampshire. In it, each friendship is explored in a look into masculinity, revenge, and regret, with a somewhat dark comedic twist.

Play adaptations can be hit or miss like many musical adaptations however, the strong ensemble performances make this a underrated movie for 2021 and one I’d recommend seeing.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
